Walk or Push this winter for WheelPower!

The WheelPower charity have extended their Walk and Push fundraising event into February, so more people can get moving and show their support for WheelPower. You will have the rest of the month to complete your challenge and it is up to you what you decide to set the target distance as. Whether you want to push for 1 mile, walk a 5-mile route in one day, push for 20 miles over a fortnight, or walk 1 mile a day for the month.

The charity, had a tough 2020, as they saw. 50% loss in income. Now more than ever, every single penny raised for WheelPower will be even more appreciated.

So far the Winter Walk & Push has raised over £6,000, which goes towards their work of changing the lives of disabled people at Stoke Mandeville Stadium.

But its not all about raising essential funds, Matthew French, from the charity, says they want to uplift people in Bucks as well: "The aim of it is to really get people out there moving in their communities and to set themselves a challenge to start the new year, and just give them something positive to focus on throughout these winter months."

As a charity who aims to transform the lives of Wheelchair users and disabled people, they made sure to make an event that everyone could get involved with: "It's always important for WheelPower to create inclusive events that can be enjoyed by everyone. The joy of this latest event is that you can chose a challenge that suits you, it can be 1 mile a week or 100 miles a month its entirely your choice."

WheelPower continues to transform the lives of thousands of disabled people throughout the UK and over the past year have adapted to the changes to provide new opportunities. During the pandemic they have created new online resources, hosted live classes and gifted exercise equipment to support disabled children and adults to stay active from their homes.
