FREELANCE MEDIA SALES EXECUTIVE

Bucks Radio is looking for an enthusiastic and commercially minded Freelance Media Sales Executive to help grow our advertising, sponsorship and commercial partnerships across Buckinghamshire.

We are an established independent local radio station connecting businesses with audiences across the county through radio, digital, online, sponsorship, events and community campaigns.

THE ROLE

Working on a flexible freelance basis, you'll develop relationships with businesses in Bucks, introducing them to the advertising and promotional opportunities available through Bucks Radio, while continuing to strengthen relationships with existing clients.

The role will include:

• Identifying and approaching potential new advertisers
• Developing relationships with local businesses
• Selling radio advertising campaigns and promotional packages
• Developing sponsorship and partnership opportunities
• Promoting Bucks Radio's digital and online advertising opportunities
• Following up enquiries and sales leads
• Preparing proposals and discussing campaigns with clients
• Maintaining relationships with advertisers and encouraging repeat business
• Keeping accurate records of leads, conversations and sales activity

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You’ll be confident talking to businesses and enjoy developing relationships.

Previous experience in sales, advertising, media, business development or account management would be an advantage, although knowledge of Buckinghamshire and a genuine enthusiasm for local business are equally important.

You'll need to be self-motivated, organised and comfortable managing your own workload, and will report directly to the station Directors, while helping to shape the future sales direction of the station.

FREELANCE ARRANGEMENT

This is a self-employed freelance position, offering flexibility over how you organise your working time and sales activity.

The role carries a monthly retainer in line with the required hours, plus commission on qualifying sales.

As a freelancer, you'll be responsible for your own tax and National Insurance and will invoice Buckinghamshire Media for your services.

The arrangement is non-exclusive, so you are free to undertake work for other clients.

COMMISSION

In addition to the monthly retainer, we offer:

10% commission on qualifying new business personally generated, with the opportunity to earn commission on qualifying renewals and ongoing business.

Full commission terms will be agreed as part of the freelance agreement.
