Waddesdon Greenway to close for almost a month

Realignment works by HS2 means the route will close from August 10th.

The popular Bucks walking and cycling route will be subject to a full 24-hour closure for the 26-day works period, reopening for cyclists and pedestrians on Friday 4th September at 7pm.

Once reopened, the Greenway's new section will cross the HS2 line over a new steel bridge, with the final bridleway link for horse riders open from 7pm on Tuesday 15 September.

The works will also involve some overnight working Monday to Friday, with earthworks and drainage installation for the new section of path first, followed by surfacing and finishing works which involve the use of heavy machinery. The 11 days of overnight working take place as follows:

• 5 nights – Monday 10 August to Friday 14 August.

• 3 nights – Monday 17 August to Friday 21 August (specific 3 nights worked will be progress dependent)

• 3 nights – Monday 31 August to Wednesday 3 September.

There is no alternative temporary diversion route during the closure, meaning users of the Greenway will have to find 'suitable alternative arrangements'.
