PD Storm is said to have given her all to policing.
Thames Valley Police are paying special tribute to Police Dog Storm, whose recent cancer diagnosis has meant she will be "hanging up her harness a little earlier than planned".
Storm is said to have give "years of dedicated service protecting our communities", where she has helped locate offenders, track suspects and stood alongside her handler, PC Carey, through countless deployments.
PC Lauren Carey said: "Storm is more than just a police dog, she's my teammate and a huge part of my life. Receiving the news that she has cancer has been devastating, and having to retire her earlier than expected is incredibly difficult.
"Despite everything, Storm remains her happy, loving self and I'm determined to make the most of our time together. I couldn't be prouder of everything she has achieved during her career. She has given her all to policing and touched the hearts of everyone who has worked with her."
Whilst police say the news has been heartbreaking for those who know and love Storm, they wanted to take a moment to celebrate her "incredible" career and shared a video, as seen below, looking back at her highlights and "the difference she has made while serving the public".
