There was a carnival atmosphere on Berryfields last night (3/8) when Jessica and Jennifer Gadirova arrived home from the Toyko Olympics.
The twins captured the county's, and the country's, hearts when they won Bronze at the Games as part of the squad that took a medal in the Women's Gymnastics team event for the first time in 93 years.
16 year old Jessica and Jennifer, who go to the Aylesbury Gymnastics Academy, were greeted by fans lining their street, waving flags, and desperate for photos of the gymnasts.
Sarah Burgess was one of those who waited for the girls, and she told us:
“It was so lovely to see so many people welcoming the girls and their coaches home. Everyone on Berryfields has been following their Olympic journey and we’re all so proud of them. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for these two. Well done girls!”
