Wildlife Crime Officers say a fine of £5,000 could be handed out after reports that a peregrine falcon had been shot in Aylesbury Vale.
The team were called to an area near Quainton on Thursday morning.
They say peregrines are a schedule 1 bird, meaning they can’t be shot.
