Drivers using Aylesbury Road near Wing are being warned to expect delays for the next several months as Southern Gas Networks (SGN) carries out a major gas pipe replacement programme.
The planned works are scheduled to continue until 15 January 2027 as part of SGN's long-term programme to replace ageing metal gas mains with modern plastic pipes, helping to provide a safer and more reliable gas supply for the future.
To allow the work to take place safely, multi-way temporary traffic signals are in operation on Aylesbury Road.
Traffic is being managed manually on weekdays between 7am and 7pm, with operatives controlling the signals to help traffic flow as efficiently as possible through the roadworks.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journeys, particularly during peak travel periods, and consider alternative routes where possible while the essential work is underway.
