Aylesbury United to Start New Season at Beaconsfield Town Amid Pitch Renovations

Aylesbury United will begin the 2026/27 season playing home fixtures away from after agreeing a temporary groundshare with Beaconsfield Town FC.

The Ducks have confirmed that major pitch renovation works at Chesham United mean the club has entered into a short-term agreement to use Beaconsfield's ground at the start of the new campaign.

While work on the pitch is progressing, the club says an exact completion date has yet to be confirmed, meaning it remains unclear how many fixtures will be affected. Under Southern League regulations, clubs must have contingency arrangements in place, prompting Aylesbury United to secure the temporary move ahead of the season.

In a statement, the club thanked Beaconsfield Town for its support, cooperation and flexibility in helping secure the arrangement.

The Ducks also thanked everyone involved in helping facilitate the groundshare agreement ahead of the new season.

Details of which league and cup fixtures will be played at Beaconsfield will be confirmed once the relevant draws and schedules have been completed.

The latest development means Aylesbury United supporters will continue to travel outside the town to watch their side at the start of the season, with the club still searching for a long-term return to Aylesbury.

The move comes during a significant period in the club's history. Earlier this year, Aylesbury United officially became a community-owned football club after a share deal saw ownership transferred to a partnership between the 21CD Supporters Trust and a newly formed Community Interest Company. The new ownership group says one of its key long-term aims is to bring the Ducks back to a permanent home in Aylesbury after two decades away from the town.

Aylesbury United have been without a permanent home in Aylesbury since leaving Buckingham Road in 2006 and have spent recent years groundsharing at various venues. Club officials have previously said securing a return to the town remains a priority as the community-owned club looks to build for the future.

Supporters have been thanked for their patience and continued backing while work at The Meadow is completed.
