Nominations have opened for the 2026 Community Awards celebrating the contributions of residents, volunteers and businesses in Wendover.
The annual awards aim to recognise individuals and organisations that make a positive impact locally, whether through volunteering, supporting neighbours, running local enterprises or contributing to community life in quieter ways. Residents are being encouraged to put forward nominations for people they believe go above and beyond to support the village.
Organisers say the awards are intended to highlight the range of efforts that help sustain community spirit and improve daily life for those living and working in the area. The scheme is open to nominations from across the community, with both online submissions and paper forms available.
This year’s categories include Lifetime Achievement, Volunteer of the Year, Business of the Year, Environmental Champion and Service with a Smile, reflecting contributions across civic involvement, environmental work and customer-facing roles.
The nomination deadline is Friday 20 March 2026. Full details about the awards and how to submit a nomination can be found through the official nomination page here (external site).
