A statement from UK Power Networks Customer Follow-up team provided some more information on recurring unplanned power cuts on Bicester Road area.
I know you've had recurring unplanned power cuts, most recently on the 3rd April. I want to apologise for the disruption, let you know why, and what we're doing to stop them.
What happened?
The problem was caused by a fault on a piece of electrical network equipment in the Bicester Road area.
How did we get your power back on?
Our team walked along cable routes and used specialist locating equipment and were eventually able to locate the equipment fault. They were then able remove the faulty equipment from the network so that power could be redirected and restored. The team used temporary generators to provide power for some customers. This work took longer than we hope so we're sorry that we had to change the estimated timeframe.
What happens next?
We'll be back on site this week to complete temporary repairs so that the generators can be removed. We'll then arrange for the full, more complex repairs to be completed at a later date. We'll try to keep any disruption to a minimum.
We always want to provide the best service that we can. If you have any questions, you can always reach our team here on 08003163105.
