News of Phanindar Koya's passing broke this morning (6/11)
Aylesbury Town Council have officially announced the death of Liberal Democrat Councillor Phanindar Koya, who passed on Wednesday (4/11), saying it has come as a "great shock to all his friends and colleagues."
Phanindar was first elected in May 2021 for the Gatehouse Ward.
He also served on the Direct Services Committee and represented the Town Council on the Aylesbury Community Board.
The Town Council said their "thoughts and prayers are with Phanindar’s family at this sad time", with fellow Lid Dem councillor and former mayor Nidhi Mehta describing him as "a dedicated public servant and someone who gave his time and commitment to serving our community".
She continued: "I had the privilege of working alongside him and sharing many moments with him. His friendship, warmth and contribution will always remain fondly remembered.
It is difficult to put into words the sadness of losing someone who has been part of our community and my shared journey. His passing leaves a void, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him and had the privilege of working with him.
My heartfelt condolences go to his family, loved ones and everyone grieving this tremendous loss. May they find strength and comfort in the memories they shared with him."
