Man dies after serious assault in Milton Keynes

Thames Valley Police have now launched a murder investigation.

Officers were called by South Central Ambulance Service shortly after 1.50am on Sunday (1/11) following reports that a man had been assaulted in Midsummer Boulevard.

Despite the best efforts of medical staff, it's now been announced that 26-year-old Ezekiel Williams from London tragically died in hospital on Monday.

His family are being supported by specially trained officers.

An investigation has now been launched by the Major Crime Unit, with two Luton men, aged 21 and 28 arrested on suspicion of murder. Another 30-year-old Luton man has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, and all remain in custody at this time.

Detective Inspector Rob Underhill, of the Major Crime Unit, said: “Our thoughts are first and foremost with Ezekiel’s family and loved ones at this devastating time.

“Specially trained family liaison officers are supporting them as they come to terms with their devastating loss.

“We have made three arrests in connection with this investigation and do not believe that there is any wider risk to the local community.

“We are carrying out a thorough and extensive investigation to establish exactly what happened.

“We recognise this incident will cause concern within the local community. There will continue to be an increased police presence in and around The Hub and Milton Keynes city centre over the coming days, and I would encourage anybody with concerns to speak with our officers.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area of Midsummer Boulevard and The Hub between 1am and 2am on Sunday morning to come forward if they witnessed anything that could assist our investigation.

“We are particularly keen to hear from anybody who may have mobile phone footage, dash-cam footage or CCTV recordings from the area at the time.

“Even the smallest piece of information could prove vital in helping us piece together the circumstances of this incident.”

Anybody with information is encouraged to call 101 or make a report online, quoting reference 43260570882.
