A 12-year-old boy from Buckingham has raised over £6400 for blood cancer charity Lymphoma Action by walking one mile a day for twenty-six days.
Harry Smith, who has cerebral palsy, started his 26-day marathon on March 1 to raise money for both the NHS and Lymphoma Action, which supports people affected by lymphoma
Harry revealed why he had chosen to support the two charities.
He explained: "I wanted to give back to a charity who help people like my amazing mum, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in 2007. I also wanted to give to the NHS as a thank you for the wonderful work they have done to fight COVID-19 over the last year."
Harry's mum Mel said all the family are incredibly proud of him.
Sarah Thorn is partnerships manager at Lymphoma Action which is based in Aylesbury.
She added her congratulations.
Sarah commented: "He really is an inspirational young man. Everyone in our team has been cheering him on - he really is a superhero. Through funds raised by people like Harry, we can continue making sure that no one has to face lymphoma alone."
