Residents reported seeing large plumes of black smoke rising from the former mill site behind Tesco on Tring Road on Sunday, prompting a swift response from Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service.
Two crews from Aylesbury, one crew from Berkhamsted and one crew from Hemel Hempstead attended a fire involving a single decker bus, which was well alight on arrival, with the fire also affecting a derelict four‑storey building and a second derelict bus.
Firefighters used one set of breathing apparatus, one main jet, one hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera to tackle the fire.
Crews worked to bring the fire under control, protect surrounding property and carried out damping down to prevent re‑ignition.
One bus was confirmed as 100% damaged by fire, with further damage to a second bus and the derelict building.
Thames Valley Police were in attendance.
