Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an assault in High Wycombe.
It happened at around 8pm on Sunday 26 September in Windrush Drive.
The victim, a woman in her twenties, answered the door to a woman who grabbed her arm.
The victim was able to shut the door. She sustained a small cut to her arm that is believed to have been caused by a small knife.
The offender is described as an Asian woman, aged in her early twenties, with light brown eyes, a slit above her left eyebrow and fake eyelashes. She was wearing a black scarf covering her head, mouth and nose as well as black skinny jeans, a plain black t-shirt and black gloves.
Investigating officer, PC Daisy Tarrant, based at High Wycombe police station, said:
“This was a frightening incident for the victim and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident to please come forward.
“We also believe that this assault could be linked to other incidents that have taken place between 17 and 26 September in which the victim has heard knocking on the door and has had scrunched up letters posted through her door.
“I’d urge anyone with information to please contact police by calling 101 or making a report online, quoting reference 43210435046.
“Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or via their website.”
