A new Greggs store is set to open in Chalfont St Peter after plans for the site have been approved by Buckinghamshire Council.
The bakery chain’s new outlet will be located at the former Vantage pharmacy at 1 Bishops House, Market Place.
Greggs has not confirmed the opening date, although the company has applied for permission to put up new signs from September 29 for five years.
The council has granted Greggs advertising consent but is yet to sign off two new signs, a new shopfront, extraction vents, and air conditioning units.
The company has said its new Chalfont branch will employ two full-time and 10 part-time staff but has not confirmed its opening hours.
Next door to Greggs, in an adjacent unit of Bishops House, a new Tesco Express store is set to open early next year.
The new supermarket will occupy the former Co-op, which closed earlier this year and was formerly a Budgens store.
Meanwhile, plans to create 10 flats on the first and second floors of Bishops House above the new Tesco and Greggs have also been given permission.
However, people living in the new flats above Greggs could be impacted by the bakery, according to one of the council’s environmental health officers. They wrote: “I note that the application does not state the trading hours of the proposed Greggs store.
“I am concerned that operations before 7am or after 11pm may have a significant impact on local residential amenity.”
