Man murdered along Grand Union Canal in Aylesbury

A man has been murdered in broad daylight on the Grand Union Canal path near Broughton.

Police in Aylesbury have launched a murder investigation after a man was assaulted, and later died of his injuries despite the best efforts of officers and paramedics. His next of kin has been informed and are being supported by Family Liaison Officers.

Police are now asking for any witnesses to establish what happened at around 12.20pm on Monday afternoon near to Bridge 14 on the canal path.

A woman has been arrested in connection with the offence and she is currently in police custody.

However it's been reported to the force that one of the offenders was a man, therefore the police say it's vital that anyone with information about the incident should contact them as soon as possible.

If you were in the area or know any information about the incident, contact the police by calling 101, or visiting their website, quoting investigation reference number 845 (26/4).

If you would prefer, alternatively you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers via their website or on 0800 555 111 and remain anonymous.
