Local charity thanks Aylesbury Council for £2,000 grant

Bucks based charity UK Astronomy have thanked Aylesbury Town Council for their £2,000 grant towards the work they do in the community.

The money will go towards new gear for a mobile observatory, helping more people see the skies above.

Ross Hockham from Uk Astronomy said this to Bucks Radio:

"I just want to say a massive thank you to Aylesbury Town Council, we applied for their community grant to go towards additional equipment, so that more people can get their hands on telescopes, binoculars and other awesome gear to see the skies above them.

"Because for us as a charity ran by volunteers, there's nothing like helping someone see a planet in the night sky and popping a telescope on it and watching their face just light up as they look through turn to us and say 'WOW that is amazing, I never knew you could see that from here!'

"Aylesbury Town Council has helped us bring this experience to more people, and as a small charity this grant will go a long way so thank you!

And remember, there is a billion worlds in your back garden."
