Hundreds of nominations celebrated at 2026 Proud of Bucks Awards

This year's Proud of Bucks awards once again showcased the remarkable strength of community spirit across the county, aptly taking place during National Volunteers' Week - a time dedicated to recognising the invaluable contributions of volunteers across the UK

Nearly 250 nominations were received from across Buckinghamshire, and the annual awards, sponsored by The Clare Foundation, celebrated the outstanding contributions of local volunteers, organisations, groups and councils that have made a positive impact in their communities over the past year.

The 2026 Proud of Bucks awards ceremony took place on Monday 1 June, recognising winners across a wide range of categories that highlight the many different ways people help their communities thrive; from supporting mental health and tackling isolation to protecting the environment and creating opportunities for young people. All nominations were carefully reviewed by judging panels, with winners selected for achievements including grassroots volunteering, innovative community projects and long-standing service to others.

This year's winners include:

• Switch Lanes CIC – Newcomer Award

• Oscar Boyson – Young Volunteer of the Year Award

• Marieke Bosman – Environmental Impact Award

• Amy Scullard – Improving Health and Wellbeing Award

• Slapton Lunch Club (Margaret Newton) – Reducing Social Isolation Award

• Wooburn and Bourne End Parish Council – Town and Parish Council Community Award

• Chalfont St Peter Community Library – Community Connectedness Award

• St Mary's CS School Young Carers Group – School/College Community Contribution Award

• Michelle Robinson-Boyce – Volunteer of the Year Award (pictured)

• Clare Clarke – Lifetime Achievement Award

Across all categories, nominations highlighted the extraordinary commitment of residents who go above and beyond to support others; from running lunch clubs and creating inclusive spaces to leading environmental initiatives, mentoring young people and strengthening neighbourhood connections. The awards, hosted by Bucks Radio's Nathan Cooper, continue to shine a light on the people and organisations that make Buckinghamshire a supportive, inclusive and resilient place to live.
