Homelessness Support Service Confirmed as Rothschild Charity Partner

Aylesbury Homeless Action Group, which provides support and advice to those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, has been chosen by the staff and volunteers at Waddesdon Manor and the Rothschild Foundation as the Foundation’s Charity of the Year for 202

In the past 12 months AHAG has supported over 700 people in north Buckinghamshire, double the number they helped in 2022. The charity seeks to help families and individuals strengthen their financial foundations and navigate the support to which they are entitled. It also offers legal and mental health advice, and practical support. Fundraising events AHAG has planned for 2026 include a Solidarity Sleepout event, Bake Off mornings, pub quizzes and bingo nights. Working with the Rothschild Foundation, the charity hopes to further raise awareness of AHAG, to encourage volunteers and to increase its fundraising, so it can help more people going through some of the most challenging periods of their lives.

Sir Roger Wright, CEO of Rothschild Foundation, said: “I am pleased that Aylesbury Homeless Action Group has been chosen as our Charity of the Year. The selection is voted for by our staff and volunteers and, as part of the award, AHAG will receive a grant of £20,000 from the Rothschild Foundation. We look forward to working with the charity throughout the year and hope that the Foundation’s support will raise awareness of the important work which the charity undertakes in our area”.

James Boultbee, CEO of Aylesbury Homeless Action Group, said: "Aylesbury Homeless Action Group has been serving homeless people in our community since 1992, in the last few years the number of people approaching us for help has more than doubled - times have been tough for many people in Aylesbury and around. Our staff team and our small but growing team of volunteers do outstanding work and see so many people from the point of crisis to being housed, feeling settled and confident in their future. This is why I was so moved by the fact that the Rothschild Foundation's staff and volunteers voted for us to be their next charity of the year. We couldn't do this without the support of local people who care, people who agree that no one should be homeless in our community and this is a lovely example of that support!".

The Rothschild Foundation is a charity supporting arts and heritage, the environment, and communities by awarding grants, fostering dialogue and debate, and through our support of Waddesdon Manor. The Foundation is chaired by Dame Hannah Rothschild and managed by a Board of Trustees. The Rothschild Foundation offers grants for the benefit of Buckinghamshire delivering our commitment to address the needs of local communities. Beyond Buckinghamshire, the Foundation supports major initiatives which encourage enjoyment of the UK’s rich cultural heritage.
