Wing’s Local Store on Stewkley Road was badly damaged in the incident in the early hours of yesterday morning (12/8).
Just two days after another suspected ram-raid incident at Ivinghoe town hall, a Wing village store was targeted at around 5am on Wednesday morning.
It has been reported that owner Sarwbir Singh said most of the shop had been affected including the counter, double doors, fridge, freezer and goods but that it didn't appear to be a robbery, with Singh confused as to what was taken. It's also been reported the shop did not have a cash machine and that his insurer was due to visit.
Local resident Ami Aubrey has since set up a Go Fund Me to support the shop in the aftermath, already smashing her target of £1,000 by raising over £1,250. In an update she celebrated the community achievement, saying:
"Wow Wing We've done it! Weve hit the £1000+ target after justgiving fees. The money will be processed and available within 14 days. I thought I'd call in at the shop later today around 12.15pm to show them the link and messages. So keep in under your hats for now!
