Police who were called to Oxford Road in Aylesbury over concerns for the welfare of a woman on Friday discovered a body
Officers and firefighters were called just before 10am and the 47-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file has been prepared for the coroner.
Thames Valley Police have completed a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct following the incident.
Forces must refer incidents to the IOPC if someone had direct or indirect contact with the police when, or shortly before, they were seriously injured or died. Forces need to refer cases where the contact may have caused or contributed to the death or injury.
