The prestigious award recognises Philippa Batting's dedication to helping local businesses.
Buckinghamshire Business First say that the honour acknowledges Philippa's "longstanding commitment to strengthening the economic prosperity of Buckinghamshire and supporting its business community".
They say that the MBE also recognises the chief executive's leadership, which has seen the organisation become a nationally recognised Growth Hub which has been able to support thousands of businesses yearly with advice, funding, training and innovation opportunities.
Speaking about the honour, Philippa Batting said:
“I am deeply honoured and humbled to receive this recognition. The work we do at Buckinghamshire Business First is only possible because of the incredible businesses, partners and colleagues who make our county such a vibrant and entrepreneurial place. This honour belongs to the whole BBF community — our team, our board, our partners, and the thousands of businesses who place their trust in us. I remain firmly committed to serving them and helping our region continue to thrive.”
Buckinghamshire Business First's chair, Michael Garvey MBE, added:
"At a time when the business community faces sustained economic pressure, skills shortages, regulatory complexity and wider uncertainty, the work that Philippa and the team at BBF undertake has never been more important in providing stability, advocacy and practical support to businesses across the county.”
The award will be formally presented to Philippa at an investiture ceremony later this year.
