MP Laura Kyrke-Smith has presented a petition in the House of Commons calling for action to help Aylesbury United return to a permanent home ground in the town it represents.
The petition, submitted on behalf of residents across Aylesbury and surrounding villages, highlights the club's long-standing contribution to the community and the urgent need to secure appropriate facilities after two decades without a home ground in the town.
Speaking in Parliament, Aylesbury's MP said the club has played "a vital role in our community for well over a century," supporting both physical and mental wellbeing, while continuing to grow a thriving youth set-up of more than 600 young players.
Commenting following the petition presentation, she said:
"For 20 years, Aylesbury United Football Club have been without a home in the town they represent. I'm calling on the Government to recognise the importance of this issue and to encourage Buckinghamshire Council and all other relevant bodies to work with the club to finally bring them back to Aylesbury.
This is about more than football — it's about community pride, local identity, and opportunities for over 600 young people to play and grow in their own town.
Last night, I presented a petition in Parliament on behalf of residents across Aylesbury and the villages, because this club has shaped lives for generations and plays a vital role in supporting both physical and mental wellbeing.
I'll keep working with all partners to make this happen - and I won't stop pushing until the Ducks are back home where they belong."
The petition notes that 2026 marks 20 years since the club left its former Buckingham Road ground and warns that a lack of facilities is now limiting opportunities for young players, with some being turned away.
Bucks Radio's Joshua Smith has been speaking to Aylesbury United Chairman Graham Read, who said he thinks progress is now being made, but it continues to be a slow process:
