St Edward’s Catholic Junior School in Aylesbury has been awarded the Primary Science Quality Mark.
This was awarded to just 334 in the county this year, and the award celebrates the commitment to excellent science teaching and learning in the school.
The schools Science teacher Alison Mahony told us just what the award means to the schools staff and students:
"We are really proud and excited to receive this award, in recognition of all the hard work and dedicated to making science a key strength at St Edwards. We have created a legacy of high quality science provision which the school has built up over many years now."
But they havent stopped there, as they are planning on helping other schools in the area too.
"The next step now is to reach out to to other schools who are interested in developing their science teaching, learning or their subject leadership and offer them support or perhaps some creative inspiration. At St Edwards we have already started to share some teaching expertise and science resources with other schools."
