It's been a morning of misery for school run and commuters in Aylesbury today (17/7), with work on 4 major roads around the town bringing traffic to a standstill.
UPDATE: Buckinghamshire Highways have issued this update:
We apologise for the disruption and delays experienced across the Aylesbury section of the road network this morning. The traffic management required to facilitate works being undertaken by MV Kellys on behalf of Taylor Wimpey at the A41/New Road junction have now been removed. We will be discussing with the developer the best way to conclude the remainder of the works and there will be no further disruption this week.
Lights on the A41 Tring Road, A413 Wendover Road, A4010 Risborough Road and A418 Bierton Road have all contributed to the problems.
There was also an accident near the Holiday Inn on the Tring Road, while for a short time it appears the lights in Bierton were not phasing properly.
Buckinghamshire Highways used social media after 9am to say there were aware of the issues and were taking steps to address them.
⚠️We are aware of the significant traffic congestion in Aylesbury and are taking steps to address the issue. Please avoid the A41, if possible. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.
