Ashmead School has been named the overall winner of the Aylesbury in Bloom Schools' Competition 2026 following this year's awards presentation,
Organised by Aylesbury Town Council, the annual competition celebrates school gardening projects that encourage biodiversity, outdoor learning and environmental stewardship.
The Mayor of Aylesbury presented the awards alongside sponsor Michael Donnachie from Michael Anthony Estate Agents, recognising the creativity, teamwork and dedication shown by pupils, staff and volunteers across all participating schools.

· Silver Award: Thomas Hickman School
Judges praised each school for its unique approach to gardening.
Thomas Hickman School was recognised for the significant progress made over the past year, including its thriving gardening club, impressive living wall and initiatives to encourage wildlife.
Aylesbury Grammar School impressed with its enclosed learning garden, where plants and produce are grown for classroom activities and fundraising, while the gardening club helps pupils develop teamwork and leadership skills.
Ashmead School earned a Gold Award and the overall title thanks to its beautiful outdoor spaces, including a memorial garden and pond, and the strong support shown by pupils, parents, carers and staff in maintaining the gardens.
William Harding School was commended for its creativity and teamwork, with pupils transforming reclaimed materials into a fun fairground-themed garden display while demonstrating their enthusiasm for protecting the environment.
Aylesbury Town Council established the competition to encourage children to connect with nature through gardening while celebrating the hard work of schools across the town. The Council also thanked volunteer judges Sue and Barbara for giving their time and expertise, as well as Michael Anthony Estate Agents for their continued sponsorship.
