Aylesbury Gardenway virtual exhibition now live

An exhibition featuring an initial proposed outline route for the Aylesbury Gardenway, an orbital park that will encircle Aylesbury, is now available to view online.

Following a 16-week engagement programme, plans and ideas based on feedback from the community conversations, co-design workshops and postings made on the interactive "put a pin in it" online map are being shared via this virtual exhibition.

Many of the ideas suggested by the public have been incorporated into the proposed route for this new green avenue and people are now invited to visit the online exhibition and share their thoughts.

The exhibition will close on 31 May and the next step in the journey will be to prepare a report with recommendations about the proposed route, broken down into deliverable sections, and plans for its' future development.

Lisa Michelson, Service Director for Economic Growth and Strategy said, "This is such an exciting project and from the response received during the engagement campaign we know that this is something that local people want and support.

"The exhibition gives people a chance to see how their feedback has helped to develop an initial route. It will take many years to complete the orbital park as the different sections come forward funding will need to be found and care taken to ensure that the design meets local needs and is sympathetic to the local environment."

"One part of the Gardenway is already underway with designs in development for the Quarrendon Leas section being drawn up with installation due to start later this year."
