An experienced swimming coach from Aylesbury has begun his Commonwealth Games campaign after being selected to represent Team England at Glasgow 2026.
Kevin Brooks is one of eight Team Coaches supporting England's swimming and para-swimming squad at the Games, which officially got underway on Thursday (23 July).
Speaking after his selection, Kevin described the appointment as a "pinch me moment" following years of dedication to coaching.
He said: "Proud to have been selected as a Coach to Team England at the Commonwealth Games 2026. Hard work undoubtedly pays off and this is one of the 'pinch me moments' in my career to date."
Kevin also thanked his family and friends for their support, saying their encouragement had helped him reach one of the proudest moments of his career.
Kevin is Head Coach at Wycombe District Swimming Club and has built an outstanding coaching career spanning almost three decades. Since beginning coaching in 1998, he has developed swimmers from grassroots level through to the Olympic Games, World Championships and European Championships.
He has coached athletes to British and English national medals, guided 20 swimmers onto Great Britain international teams, and has worked with Great Britain junior and senior squads on more than 15 occasions. His previous honours include serving as Head Coach of the Great Britain European Junior Team in 2018.
Since joining Wycombe District Swimming Club in 2012, Kevin has helped transform the club into one of the UK's leading swimming programmes, overseeing significant growth and helping it achieve recognition as a Swim England Performance Centre.
The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games feature 10 sports and six para sports across four venues, with Team England aiming for success throughout the competition.
Kevin is now part of the coaching team helping England's swimmers prepare to compete against the best athletes from across the Commonwealth.
