A school in Amersham wants to install solar panels.
Heatherton House School in Copperkins Lane has applied for a certificate of lawfulness for its proposals.
Heatherton, which has a co-educational nursery, wants to fix 24 panels to its roof, according to Berkhamsted Schools Group, which made the application.
Plans state that the electricity generated by the renewable technology would save 1.7 tonnes of CO2 a year and be equivalent to planting 78 trees.
