HS2 has announced that the temporary concrete barriers installed at the Meadoway junction will be removed ion Saturday 26th July. To safely complete the work, a one-day closure of the A418 Oxford Road will be required.
Access to the Meadoway junction was originally closed in April to facilitate the connection of a gas pipe along the new road alignment. These works have been complex, involving the management of multiple underground utility services. The completion date for these activities has now been confirmed for late July.
When will the closure take place?
The A418 Oxford Road will be closed on Saturday, 26 July, from 8am to 8pm to allow for the removal of the barriers.
Pedestrian and cycle access will be maintained throughout the closure, along the old stretch of the A418.
Once the barriers are removed, both the A418 Oxford Road and Meadoway will reopen to traffic.
