A woman at a supermarket car park in Buckinghamshire has had her car stolen by two men who used the pretense of witnessing an accident to gain access to her vehicle.

The incident occurred around 4.30pm on Tuesday 6th December at the Lake End Road Sainsbury’s in Taplow.

The victim, a woman in her fifties, was leaving the car park when a man suddenly appeared and told her that he had seen someone hit her car.

As the victim got out to inspect the damage, another offender jumped into her car and drove away. The offender who initially spoke to the victim ran away towards the car and got into the passenger seat.

The first offender is described as white, around 5ft 10ins tall, with a stocky build. He was wearing a red and black bobble hat, coat, bottoms and shoes.

The second offender was not seen.

The vehicle that was stolen is a black Vauxhall Astra, Griffin Limited Edition model, with a parital registration of RA21.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

Investigating officer PC Manraj Brar, based at Amersham police station, said: “We are looking to speak to anyone who saw this incident occur or anyone who has any information in relation to this incident to please get in touch.

“You can get in touch by either making a report online or by calling 101, quoting reference number 43220549281.

“Alternatively, for 100% anonymity, you can also call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
