Woman robbed and sexually assaulted in Aylesbury

Footpath off Coldharbour Way in Aylesbury

A woman was robbed and sexually assaulted in Aylesbury on Thursday morning after being approached by two men.

Between 5.44am and 5.53am on the morning of the 29th September, the victim was approached by the two men on the footpath just off Coldharbour Way, leading to Sandhill Way.

The woman was assaulted and an attempt was made to steal her handbag. During the incident she was also sexually assaulted.

The men fled when they heard footsteps nearby.

A 37-year-old man from Aylesbury has subsequently been arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains in custody.

The victim, who did not attend hospital, is being supported by police officers.

Police are appealing for witnesses. The men are described as one White man and one Asian man, both wearing dark clothing.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Mandy Cutler, based at Aylesbury police station, said: “This is a concerning incident which we are investigating thoroughly.

“We have arrested one man, but are still asking anyone who saw this incident or may have a ring doorbell in the area to please check their footage and get in touch if it shows anything significant.

“We are aware that one man may have passed by as the victim was calling the police and that several vehicles also passed by.

“We would appeal to these people to please get in touch as soon as possible.
