Clair Gibson will be undertaking a marathon dressage horse riding event to raise much needed funds for Cancer research UK.
On 28th and 29th August 2021, she will be riding a total of 100 dressage tests in order to raise valuable funds for Cancer Research UK.
Using her own horses and others (roughly 12), kindly volunteered by friends, she will be riding 50 tests on both days which will take approximately 4 hours on each day.
Clair told us some details abut her challenge:
The reason for Clair raising money for Cancer Research is because she was diagnosed with breast Cancer in May 2015, and wants to find a cure for Cancer so that the statistic of a diagnosis affecting 1 in 2 of us, can be changed for the better.
After her diagnosis, she said her horses and music were two things who got her through the tough times:
"The bottom fell out of my world and quite frankly, I was terrified. During my 18 months of treatment, I rode every day when I was well enough to do so. My horses are one of the main reasons I got through a really rough time. I owe them a huge debt of gratitude."
