The University of Buckingham is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, marking half a century as the UK’s original independent university.
Founded in 1976, it was created with a vision of higher education outside government control and later gained a Royal Charter in 1983.
A programme of events, talks and exhibitions will take place throughout the year to reflect on its history and look ahead to the future.
