Dry January and Veganuary may already be out the window, but Wheel Power’s ‘Winter Walk and Push’ event is a January trend worth getting involved in.
Wheel Power is asking us to walk or push a distance of our choice during the month of January, and help transform the lives of disabled children and adults. The event is free, but the charity would appreciate either a donation to their cause, or you could get sponsored by family and friends for completing your chosen challenges every day. If you're are able to raise over £15, you will receive your very own WheelPower t-shirt.
Participants are being encouraged to set their own goals and to not put too much pressure on themselves, but instead to enjoy being active and have fun!
Matthew French from the Charity says: “Unfortunately like so many charities across the UK, WheelPower has been hugely impacted by the cancellation of fundraising events due to Covid-19. 2020 was an incredibly tough year for our charity as we saw a 50% loss in income, so now more than ever, every single penny raised for WheelPower will even more appreciated.”
“The money raised from the Winter Walk & Push will help transform the lives of thousands of disabled children and newly injured adults. With your help we will be able to continue our vital work at Stoke Mandeville Stadium and beyond, as we provide new opportunities for disabled people to stay active from their homes during these challenging times”
