Aylesbury town centre was a hive of activity on Saturday as 48 teams took part in the first-ever Race Across Aylesbury event, raising vital funds for local hospice care.
Organised by Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity, the new fundraising event saw teams race around the town centre, tackling a series of clues, puzzles and challenges at well-known Aylesbury landmarks and local businesses.
The event brought energy and excitement to the town, with participating businesses creating a unique race experience by hosting challenges, welcoming teams and providing clues.
After an action-packed day of racing and problem-solving, ‘Dance Mums and a Dad’ were crowned the winners of the inaugural event.
A huge congratulations to all 48 teams who took part and helped make the event such a success.

“Seeing local businesses, participants and our wider community come together to take on challenges and raise vital funds for Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity was truly inspiring. I’m incredibly proud of our team for bringing this idea to life, our supporter Bucks Radio for their help in publicising the event, and I’m immensely grateful to everyone who played a part in making it such a memorable and successful event.
The event has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants, with one racer describing the day as: “Such a fun day! Well done to all the organisers and the town businesses that took part; it was fabulous! Hoping it will be back next year.”
The money raised from the event will provide compassionate care and support to patients and their families across Buckinghamshire and its borders.
