UPDATES: Protests at Arla Dairy in Aylesbury

Groups of Animal Rebellion supporters stopped and climbed onto company trucks outside four facilities, including the Arla Dairy in Aylesbury, and they claim to have trespassed at company facilities, scaling milk silos and entering the sites' loading bays.

Thames Valley Police has made several arrests following a protest at the Arla Foods site in Aylesbury.

Officers attended the scene following reports that protestors entered the site on Samian Way at around 5.50am, which affected operations.

Protest removal teams were utilised and 23 people have been arrested. They remain in police custody.

Assistant Chief Constable Dennis Murray said: “The protest caused some disruption to the Arla Foods site and the A41 for a short period of time but has now been safely resolved, with 23 people arrested.

“Thames Valley Police respects the right for peaceful protest but will take action when protest activity infringes on others going about their lawful business.

“Furthermore, our response to the protest has reduced our ability to effectively investigate crimes and protect vulnerable individuals across the Thames Valley.

“Those who commit crimes while protesting will always be dealt with robustly by Thames Valley Police.

“Protestors have now left the site and patrols will continue in the area.”

 

UPDATE: The slips road off the A41 have now reopended

Statement from Thames Valley Police:

Thames Valley Police was made aware of a protest at Arla Dairy Aylesbury at around 5.50am this morning (4/9). 
So far, five people have been arrested. Officers are working to remove the remaining protestors.

As a result College Road North off the Aston Clinton Bypass has been closed by police. Bucks Council has released a statement saying currently their recycle centre is closed.
