A woman has been sentenced for perverting the course of justice and possessing a firearm without a license in Aylesbury.
Amanda Hounslow, aged 38, of Ayrshire Close, Aylesbury was sentenced to one year and eight months in prison on Friday (10/12).
The sentencing is in connection with a shooting that took place in Aylesbury in December 2018.
In 2019, Dylan Madden, then aged 18, of Mandeville Road, was convicted of attempted murder and possession of a firearm and sentenced to 14 years’ imprisonment.
Hounslow accepted the firearm, a sawn-off shotgun, from Madden who was a family friend and hid it in a friend’s garage.
This prolonged the original police investigation as it meant the firearm wasn’t found until April 2019.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Suzie Price based at Sulhamstead police station, said:
“Illegal firearms have no place in our community.
“Anyone involved in the criminal use or subsequent hiding of firearms will be brought to justice.
“Thames Valley Police will deal with you robustly and will not tolerate anyone trying to interfere with or hinder criminal investigations.”
