Police appeal for witnesses to robbery in Aylesbury

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Aylesbury.

At just before 6am on Wednesday (14/7) the victim, a 19-year-old man, was cycling along Churchill Avenue when he stopped outside Cottesloe Park in order to inflate the tyres.

Just as he had finished inflating them, two offenders approached him and initially asked for a cigarette. The victim did not provide one and then began walking away when one of the offenders produced a knife from the waistband of his trousers and told the victim that they were taking his bicycle.

Both offenders then took the bike and walked off in the direction of Church Square.

Both offenders are described as white men, both aged between 16 and 20.

The first, who had the knife, was around 6ft tall and of a slim build, and was dressed in black Adidas tracksuit bottoms with white stripes down to the knee, a black hooded top with the words ‘Hood Rich’ written across the front, with the hood up. He also wore a black snood which was pulled over his mouth and nose.

The second was around 5ft 9ins tall and of a slim build. He was also wearing black Adidas tracksuit bottoms with white stripes to the knee, and a light grey hooded top with the hood up. He was also wearing a black snood covering his mouth and nose.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Rachel Huggins, of Aylesbury police station said:

“I am appealing for witnesses to this incident, where a 19-year-old man was robbed of his bike after one of these two offenders produced a knife towards him.

“I’d ask that any witnesses make a report to the force, either online or by calling 101. Please quote reference 43210311439 when doing so. Alternatively, you can call independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, for which you will receive 100% anonymity while making reports.”
