Quainton CE Primary School have been able to create their new reading areas after receiving funding from educational publisher Twinkl.
Funding from Twinkl's Community Collection Giving Tuesday campaign, alongside additional resources, has allowed the school to create new immersive 'story pods', which hope to help children rekindle a love of reading.
The school previously had, like many other primary schools, traditional classroom and library book corners that failed to get children excited about reading, but staff say that the new spaces have already begun to help foster imaginative play and exploration for its students.
Karen Barber, Class Teacher and Literacy Lead at Quainton CE Primary school, said "Being given the opportunity to improve our reading provision by reimagining our available spaces as 'story pods' has sparked the excitement and engagement for our students.
"We have been able to turn our vision into reality with the completion of our new treehouse, providing a unique environment that fosters imaginative play, exploration, and a love of learning, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive. This incredible, inclusive space will support the needs of all our children for years to come."
Twinkl's Community Collection Tuesday Campaign, which funds school projects across the country, received over 3,000 applications and has seen them donate £40,000 in total. In the past 12 months, Community Collection has provided £96,160 in support across 533 schools and their projects with funds and supplies.
Jon Seaton, CEO of Twinkl, said: "Twinkl prides itself on the positive impact that it has on educators, parents, and children and I'm delighted that we are able to showcase that through direct donations to schools covering the expenses for the educational projects that are much needed in each setting".
