The car park at the Buckinghamshire Council office on King George V Road in Amersham is set to become a Pay and Display car park open to the public from Friday 15 October.
Ticket machines will be installed from mid-October and the barrier at the entrance will no longer be in use. Permit and blue badge holders will be able to continue to use the car park while displaying their permit or blue badge.
Parking charges will apply Monday to Friday 7.30am to 6pm and will be free on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays. A 30-minute stay will be free of charge. Visitors will be able to pay for parking with cash at the Pay and Display machines or via RingGo.
There will be a maximum stay of three hours, and Season tickets will not be available.
The formal consultation to introduce charges on the car park was carried out in December 2019 following a decision by Cabinet and the Parking Order was amended thereafter.
The charges will be as follows:
- 30 minutes free
- Up to 1 hour £0.70
- Up to 2 hours £1.40
- Up to 3 hours £2.00
