A new, single point of contact has been developed for residents regarding the legal orders that control traffic and roads in Buckinghamshire.
There is a legal order, known as a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO), behind every speed limit, double yellow line, council owned car park, parking bay, one way system and anything else that controls traffic or pedestrians. Over the last year, all the legal orders from the former county council and district councils have been merged into one new system.
This can be found at www.buckinghamshiretraffweb.uk and is now one single point of contact for residents.
As well as being able to view the legal orders in one place, residents are also be able to view any proposed changes to the parking controls, speed limits, weight limits and other regulations, which will also be displayed. Residents will also be able to use the website to directly comment on any changes being proposed.
As a result of this new website, Buckinghamshire Council's legal orders are now some of the most organised anywhere in the country. This has meant that the council is able to aid the Department for Transport in Project Alpha, a digitisation project for smart highways and improvement to legal orders.
Buckinghamshire Council Acting Cabinet Member for Transport Steve Bowles said:
"I am very pleased with this new website that allows residents easy access to a lot of useful information regarding legal orders and traffic controls. When it comes to the roads, there is a lot of information out there. It's important to make sure it's accessible to residents, easy to find and easy to understand. This new point of contact ticks all those boxes and I hope that residents will make use of it and find it helpful."
