Sarah Green, Member of Parliament for Chesham and Amersham, joined Ukrainian refugees in her constituency on Friday for a dinner to mark the anniversary of the full scale invasion of their country.
The 'Unbreakable Day' Dinner was organised by the Hilltops Ukrainian Support Community, a group of local host families and volunteers working to support refugees coming to the area under the Homes for Ukraine and Ukraine Family schemes.
During the dinner, Sarah spoke to both Ukrainians and their hosts about how they have settled into the area, and some of the challenges they still face.
Commenting after the event, she said: "It was a privilege to join the Hilltops Ukrainian Support Community in Ballinger last night for a delicious dinner.
"They gave a moving presentation sharing their experiences over the last 12 months.
"In addition, we celebrated one young man's 9th birthday (his birthday last year had to be abandoned).
"We were also treated to delicious biscuits to take home."
