An elderly man in his nineties is in a critical condition in hospital following a burglary of his home in High Wycombe last week.
The victim was seriously injured during the break-in on Cedar Terrace on 19th November, where around £250 and some jewellery was stolen.
A 46-year-old man from High Wycombe has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and he remains in police custody.
Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses.
Investigating officer Detective Inspector Alice Broad, said: “I am appealing for anybody with any information about this burglary to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.
“I would be particularly keen to hear from anybody walking nearby or who may have been driving in the area to check any dash-cam footage, and get in touch if it has captured anything that could assist this investigation.
“Anyone with any information about this burglary should call 101, quoting reference number 43220524140 or make a report online.

“There will be an increased presence of officers in the area while we conduct our enquiries.”
