The results are in for the role of Police and Crime Commissioner for the Thames Valley Area.
Conservative candidate Matthew Barber has been elected, he was the Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner for the past four years.
He has said
“I am delighted to have been elected as the next Police and Crime Commissioner for the Thames Valley.
I would also like to offer my thanks to Thames Valley residents for coming out and supporting my campaign, especially with the current COVID-19 restrictions in place.
I plan to hit the ground running and deliver on my campaign promises."
The Police and Crime Commissioner is an elected representative who oversees how crime is tackled in a police force area.
Their aim in to cut crime and to ensure the police force is effective.
