Fun and inclusive new play area opens at Higginson Park

Families visiting Higginson Park in Marlow are in for a treat, with the opening of an exciting new play area featuring equipment designed for children of all ages and abilities.

After consultation with users of the park, Buckinghamshire Council has transformed the outdated play space into an innovative area where children can play, explore and let their imaginations run free.

Young visitors will be thrilled by the huge new multi-play ship, wheelchair-friendly roundabout, and jumping trampoline. There are also several different swings to enjoy, including a giant 'Cocowave' rope swing, a 'you and me' seat, and the accessible 'Swingseat Mirage'.

The new equipment incorporates several items made from recycled materials.

"We are absolutely delighted that this fantastic new play area is now open for local families," said Clive Harriss, Buckinghamshire Council's Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure.

"With its imaginative design and inclusive equipment, the space encourages adventure and active play for children of all ages, abilities and needs. Sensory elements make it an engaging and educational environment as well. We hope to see many smiling faces enjoying the park throughout the summer holidays and beyond!"

For convenience, the play area is now connected to the park café and toilet facilities via a dedicated pathway.

Higginson Park also recently received a Green Flag Award, reflecting its status as one of the best parks in the country.
