Chiltern Metropolitan Line services to be impacted by London Underground industrial action next week

Chiltern Railways is warning customers travelling on its Metropolitan Line services between Aylesbury and London via Amersham that their journey will likely be affected due to industrial action by London Underground staff next week.

The impact of the strike action by London Underground staff on Chiltern Railways will differ each day due to the nature of the action, where different teams are taking action on different days.

Chiltern's Metropolitan Line trains to Aylesbury via Amersham operate on London Underground infrastructure which is controlled and signalled by London Underground staff. For this reason, timetables will be heavily amended next week.

All other Chiltern Railways services will operate as normal, including services between Aylesbury and London Marylebone (via High Wycombe), with some additional services in place along this route to support customers who wish to travel between Aylesbury and London.

A summary of service levels is as follows:

Sunday 7 January

Normal timetable will run on all routes. Where possible, after 18:00 trains will be formed of more carriages than normal on the Chiltern Railways route that runs along the London Underground Metropolitan Line via Amersham.

Monday 8 January

Before 08:00, a limited shuttle service will operate between Aylesbury Vale Parkway/Aylesbury - stations to Great Missenden.

From 08:00, Chiltern Railways services will operate between Aylesbury / Aylesbury Vale Parkway and London Marylebone, however no trains are able to call at London Underground managed stations all day: Amersham, Chalfont & Latimer, Chorleywood, Rickmansworth, or Harrow-on-the-Hill.

No Chiltern Railways services will call at South Ruislip all day.

Tuesday 9 January & Thursday 11 January

No Chiltern Railways services between London Marylebone and Great Missenden. A shuttle service will operate from Aylesbury Vale Parkway to Great Missenden (it will not be possible to travel beyond Great Missenden towards London).

Customers should travel to Aylesbury for services to London via High Wycombe.

No Chiltern Railways services will call at South Ruislip until 08:00.

From 09:00, Chiltern Railways services will operate between Aylesbury Vale Parkway/Aylesbury and London Marylebone, however no trains are able to call at London Underground managed stations all day: Amersham, Chalfont & Latimer, Chorleywood, Rickmansworth, or Harrow-on-the-Hill all day.

No Chiltern Railways services will call at South Ruislip all day.

Friday 12 January
