Bucks Mind encourage you to take part in "Time to talk Day' today!

Time to Talk Day is the nation’s biggest mental health conversation and its taking place today (3/2).

The day is all about creating supportive communities by having conversations with family, friends, or colleagues about mental health. We all have mental health, by talking about it we can support ourselves and others.

Isobel Shea from the Mind Bucks charity explained why Time To Talk Day is so important:

"It's so important that we work towards ending stigma as it can really act as a barrier stopping people from reaching out for help as they may feel ashamed or they may feel like they won't be believed.

"Any delay in getting help and support for a mental health condition can really delay getting the condition and recovery too."

Isobel also told us what they have done this year to help men talk about their mental health:

"We have created drinks matts and posters for pubs across Buckinghamshire. It's to help us reach more men who may not be aware of mental health, or may not be able to spot the symptoms in themselves or it might be for men who might not feel comfortable enough opening up and asking for help because of the stigma."

You can download a free conversation starter pack to help you talk about mental health in your community.
