We are well into the Great British Spring Clean Keep Britain Tidy now, with many residents picking up rubbish in their local area.
But the Council want everyone to stay safe, so they have issued some tips.
- Please only litter pick where you feel safe & comfortable to do so. Always litter pick in daylight & wear appropriate clothing & footwear, including a hi vis vest if possible.
- Do not litter pick along roads with a speed limit of more than 30mph, highways or highway verges, or any roads where there is no pavement or footpath. Avoid litter picking on steep slopes, cliff edges or in water courses.
- When carrying out your litter pick, if you come across any incidents of fly-tipping, do not collect or move the waste. Report it at https://crowd.in/rXdf5n. We will investigate & arrange for appropriate & safe removal.
